FAQs
How long is the pool construction process?
Our goal is to provide clientele with a 70 day process from the day we start excavation to the day the pool is filled with water. There is a chemical startup process involved after plaster that might limit swimming hours the first two weeks of a new pool but your technician can give more details. Weather, multiple changes to design, material shortages, and more detail-oriented projects (that include more than just the pool; like firepit, incorporated landscaping, patio covers, BBQ/Bars, and other construction) can elongate the 70 day timeline.
What does Courage Pools warranty?
Courage Pools pool structure is given a lifetime warranty. Pentair/StaRite equipment is a 3 year warranty. Polaris pool sweep is a 2 year warranty.
How long is the initial consultation meeting?
This will depend on how many questions a client has and how intricate proposed design may be but we typically request an hour for the initial consultation.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes we request a $1,000 deposit at contract signing.
Does Courage Pools handle permits?
Yes, Courage Pools is responsible for all permit paperwork including engineering and requesting inspections.
What does the general construction process entail?
Upon contract signing, your designer will prepare permits to submit to your city or county building department. After approval, excavation will begin the construction process. There are typically 4 inspections required for a pool build; pre-gunite, pre-deck, pre-plaster, and a final inspection.
How many pools does Courage Pools complete each year?
On average, Courage Pools excavates/completes approximately 80 pools a year.
What does an in-ground gunite pool and spa cost?
Our Pool and Spa Packages change yearly based on labor and material costs (plus permit fees) but variables like size and depth, water features, special engineering, access, soil conditions, and material options all play into the total contract price. The average contract price from 2019 was $78,000.
Why Courage Pools?
We are a local family owned business that aims to put the customer experience first. We take on a limited amount of projects each year to ensure the communication, product, and construction process is as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Our 25 years of business not only shows our experience but our reputation in the area. Homeowners are assigned a designer from the initial consultation that will walk alongside them for the remainder of the project answering any questions or concerns. Jim Courage, owner, is personally involved in each project, too.
